Open for Business
LiveTourism is delighted to be working on another great accessibility project with the Premier League. Following on from the ‘Open for Business’ e-book LiveTourism has written an online training programme for managers and front line staff within the Premier League clubs. Mandy Lane Director of LiveTourism says ‘ This training programme is the first of a kind in bringing the whole accessibility agenda alive, the programme is highly interactive, fun and working with our designers Weclick has enabled us to give the Premier League the cutting edge in accessibility training’
The programme is due to go live in April 2012 – watch this space!
In a very competitive tender against seven other short listed companies, LiveTourism was awarded the project to deliver an online training programme for the leisure and tourism industry in London. The Mayor of London has pledged that this will be the most accessible Olympic and Paralympic Games. This training programme will help both managers and front line staff to develop the services and facilities they offer disabled people. The project is currently in the technical build and design stage which is being delivered by the company Bright Lemon.
The Premier League commissioned LiveTourism to develop a set of quality standards for the 20 Premier League clubs. Working in partnership with VisitEngland, LiveTourism will assess each club against the standard. VisitEngland encourages excellence in a number of ways but mainly through a 'family' of quality standards. VisitFootball will sit within this family of standards.
Richard Scudamore, Chief Executive Premier League says 'VisitEnglands Quality Assured Stadium Scheme is an important step because it acknowledeges the many efforts that clubs make for their supporters'
Developed by LiveTourism, the most comprehensive business case for accessible tourism in England is launched. The booklet, entitled ‘At Your Service’, has been created through a joint partnership between the Government’s Accessible Tourism Stakeholder Forum and VisitEngland with the aim of inspiring tourism businesses to improve accessibility for customers in the lead up to the London 2012 Olympic Games & Paralympic Games.
Tourism Minister John Penrose endorses the booklet and says: “Improving accessibility is a real opportunity for many businesses. This booklet provides hard facts and figures outlining the potential benefits of catering to this market, together with clear steps for operators to improve their offer. I hope it will help to achieve a lasting legacy for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
The Premier League commissioned LiveTourism to produce a business support guide to improving the family experience at the 20 Premier League clubs. ‘Raise your Game’ is designed as an interactive e-book, packed full of simple low cost ideas and smart solutions to improving the family experience. Mandy Lane Director of LiveTourism says ‘We are delighted to be working with the Premier League and the clubs on this project. Our key message for the clubs is to think beyond the 90 minutes and consider the whole of the family’s football journey. You will attract and keep family fans if you anticipate their feelings and needs at every stage’.
This project was commissioned by the London Development Agency (LDA) in partnership with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG). LiveTourism brief is to:
Provide a snap shot view of the accessibility of London as a visitor destination
Identify major initiatives underway
Make recommendations for the intervention of public sector bodies
Establish base lines against which progress can be monitored
Access New Business
On behalf of Bath Tourism Plus and the South West Development Agency LiveTourism has been commissioned to develop a series of workshops to help businesses improve their accessibility. The workshops will cover three key areas; customer service, facilities and marketing. Whether you operate a pub, shop, restaurant, B&B, attraction or a taxi this is for you. The programme will run from May-September 2010.
The 2012 Inspire mark was awarded to this project in 2010.
PR for Windsor and Maidenhead
LiveTourism is delighted to secure a three year contract providing tourism PR services for The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. A combination of excellent contacts, sharp journalistic skills, an eye for newsworthy stories plus experience with utilising new technologies are just some of the areas LiveTourism brings to the work.
The company sees this as another step in the drive to maximise the economic benefits accruing from 2012. Eton/Dorney will feature prominently as the location for the rowing events, where the UK has a strong tradition of delivering medals.
LiveTourism CEO Mandy Lane said "We look forward to continuing our work with Julia White and the The Royal Borough's Visitor Services team. Windsor is a prestigious tourism destination and we are a Maidenhead based company".
